After an eventful transfer window, Matchday 26 of the Premier League was bound to be an exciting one. Arsenal fans, in particular, were waiting for their team's game the most - as newest acquisition, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was likely to be on display.

The striker did feature, and he did so characteristically, as did Henrikh Mkhitaryan - second-newest acquisition - as Arsenal tore into an Everton side that didn't know what hit them. Aaron Ramsey also showcased why older players are equally crucial, with his first ever hat-trick for Arsenal.

It was the Welshman who opened the scoring in the 6th minute, before Laurent Koscielny capitalised on some awful defending from the visitors in the 14th to double the lead. Ramsey then came back to triple it merely 5 minutes later.

Catering to mass demand, Aubameyang, too, stamped his name on the scoresheet with a superb dink to beat a helpless Jordan Pickford. While it could be debated that the Gabonese star was a mile offside, you can't help but feel warm about the reunion of Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan - who notably picked up 3 excellent assists.

#5 Aubameyang - Mkhitaryan reunion fuels Arsenal's juggernaut

In 2013, two promising individuals in their mid-twenties had just joined Borussia Dortmund and had started to make a name for themselves with their breathtaking performances. This duo, comprising of Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan, then went on to wreak havoc in Germany over the next 3 seasons

Mkhitaryan then moved to Manchester United, and things started to go south for the German side, however, that's a discussion for a later time. The frighteningly quick pair have finally been reunited under Arsene Wenger's tutelage, and if last night's game is anything to go by, Arsenal could well pose a dangerous threat to the top 5 in the Premier League, who seemed to be inching away from the Gunners.

While Aubameyang found the back of the net on his debut, the Armenian genius from Manchester United showed the world a glimpse of what he's capable of when he fits in and he's content, as he piled up 3 assists - including the one that set up close friend Aubameyang's first ever Arsenal goal.

Arsenal fans will undoubtedly be giddy after that comprehensive performance from the Gunners, which if repeated consistently, can only propel Arsene Wenger's side upwards.

#4 Everton's defensive nightmare continues

Sam Allardyce's side was ripped apart and undone so emphatically last night, that it makes you wonder how they were holding together in the first place. Taking nothing away from Arsenal, their attack was exquisite, but Everton's defence didn't quite help their cause.

Ashley Williams, Micheal Keane and Eliaquim Mangala looked as clueless as three fourth-graders being handed a 10th-grade question paper. The trio had absolutely no answers to Arsenal's fiery style, and fell apart in no time, conceding 4 before half-time.

This isn't a new story, though. While Everton may find themselves sitting on the edge of the top-half of the table, they've already conceded an astonishing total of 45 goals this season. For perspective, only 3 teams in the league have conceded more, of which 2 currently warm the relegation zone.

Now, considering the fact that the Toffees have splashed a whopping total north of £300 million on transfers in the last 3 seasons, their defence simply cannot afford to leak as many goals as they currently do.

Sam Allardyce will desperately need to plug the holes in this Everton side at the soonest, or else it's only a matter of time before the team begins to resemble the Titanic... It too was expensive, widely spoken about, and expected to sail far and wide. We're all familiar with how that ended, yes?

#3 Aaron Ramsey scores his first ever Arsenal hat-trick

On a day when the new guns came out blazing, Aaron Ramsey put in a slightly closer-to-home performance that proved that on its day, the old cannon works just as well as the flashy new weaponry.

Appropriately awarded the man of the match award, Ramsey seemed to put not a foot wrong, as in Jack Wilshere's inexplicable absence, it was the Welshman who seemed to be pulling all the strings.

Deftly converting a sublime cross from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, in as early as the 6th minute, he gave the Gunners the lead. 13 minutes later, the 27-year old fired in a shot from long-range - which was inadvertently deflected past Pickford into the back of net - to score his second, and give Arsenal's devout fans a bundle of joy.

With the game all but wrapped up, in the 74th minute, the midfielder came back to haunt Everton as he slammed in a cross from the right flank - From Mkhitaryan, again - to seal his first ever hat-trick as an Arsenal player, and the tie - one in which the final whistle only served to put the Toffees out of their misery.

#2 Why doesn't Dominic Calvert-Lewin start?

Coming into this game having won just 1 of their last 7 matches in the Premier League, and 8 matches in all competitions, Everton were in desperate need of a point, at least. While their defence may be culpable for the carnage that ensued, their attack was also rendered incompetent, failing to make much of a dent.

The problem wasn't that they didn't create chances. It's that they failed to make much of what they created. Big Sam's side took as many as 11 chances, of which just 2 were on target - Calvert Lewin's goal in the 64th minute being the more significant one.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton's 20-year-old forward replaced Theo Walcott in the second half of the game, and was visibly a breath of fresh air to a suffocating Everton side.

Arriving in time to head in Cuco Martina's well-delivered cross, the Englishman became the only player for the Toffees to successfully beat Petr Cech - pertinently asking the question that is the title of this slide.

#1 Can this new-look Arsenal side finish within the top 4?

Bolstered by some new firearms, Arsene Wenger's Arsenal gunned Everton down, eventually reducing them to tatters. If anything, this was just what the doctor ordered for the North Londoners, in a bid to restore parity after Alexis Sanchez's departure.

Retaliating this way after losing a player you had built your squad around isn't something every manager and every club can pull off. Wise business in the transfer window, coupled with the liberation brought around by the absence of Sanchez's sulk seems to have truly reinvigorated the Gunners.

Last night, this Arsenal side looked deadly. Working as a unit, firing in cohesion, fighting as a team, this side seems to have shrugged off all the negativity that seemed to weigh it down all this while.

Just 5 points adrift of the top 4, and only 3 of out the remaining 12 games to be played against top-6 teams, in all honesty, a top-4 finish isn't quite out of Arsenal's reach yet. And while that shouldn't be what they aim for every season, they'll be more than happy with it this season

Will Arsene Wenger and this newly upholstered Arsenal side lunge enough to reach the top 4? Only time will tell. However, if they do continue to play like they did last night, you'd be wise to put your money on them to finish in the top-4 and subsequently play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
