A report claims that Laurent Koscielny rejected the chance to discuss a move to Thierry Henry's Monaco before making his return from a long-term layoff.

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny reportedly turned down the chance to speak to Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco over a return to France.

The 33-year-old recently returned from a long-term injury layoff, featuring seven times for the Gunners in all competitions since the start of last month.

Monaco have already moved to bring in Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea in January and, according to Le10 Sport, Thierry Henry was after defensive experience to boost his side's survival hopes.

Koscielny was targeted by the Arsenal legend before his return to action in December, it is claimed, but the veteran centre-back declined the offer to discuss a move.

Naldo has since been recruited by Monaco, joining in a near-£1m switch from Schalke 04 on January 3.
