Arsenal 'open to Shkodran Mustafi offers'

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is reportedly willing to listen to offers for defender Shkodran Mustafi this summer in an effort to boost his transfer funds.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers for defender Shkodran Mustafi this summer.

Manager Unai Emery has been told that he will have to raise most of the funds himself if he is to carry out an overhaul of his current squad, with the Spaniard being given an initial budget of just £40m during the summer window.

The Gunners were also limited to just loan deals in January, and The Telegraph reports that Emery has identified Mustafi as a prime candidate to sell in order to boost the club's transfer kitty.

The Germany international joined Arsenal in 2016 and was the third-most expensive defender ever at the time he swapped Valencia for North London in a £35m deal.

However, Mustafi has regularly been criticised for his performances during that spell as part of an Arsenal defence which has consistently been among the worst in the Premier League's top six.

The 26-year-old has made 23 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this season and is closing in on 100 outings for the club in total.
