Internationals: Nketiah nets hat-trick for England

Seven of our first-team stars were in action during the last round of October internationals. Scroll down to find out how they got on:

Eddie Nketiah scored a perfect hat-trick for England Under-21s in their Euro 2021 qualifying win over Austria. Our young striker turned in twice from close range and also headed home in the Young Lions' win. It's Eddie's first hat-trick at under-21 international level, taking his tally to eight goals in as many games for Aidy Boothroyd's side.

He could even have scored a fourth but saw his penalty saved with five minutes left. Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi completed the scoring with two goals, while Joe Willock played 74 minutes.

The result preserves England's perfect record at the top of Group 3, taking them clear of second-placed Austria on goal difference after three games.

Matteo Guendouzi was also in Euro 2021 qualifying action, completing the full 90 minutes in midfield to help France beat Slovakia 5-3. Former Gunner Jeff Reine-Adelaide struck after three minutes, with Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard netting a hat-trick and Houssem Aouar also on target.

The victory lifts France into second in Group 2, with two wins from two, just three points behind leaders Switzerland but with a game in hand.

Sead Kolasinac claimed an assist but was unable to prevent Bosnia & Herzegovina from slipping to a late defeat in Greece. Evangelos Pavlidis put the hosts ahead but after Kolasinac had set up Amer Gojak's equaliser, Adnan Kovacevic scored an 88th-minute own goal to ensure the visitors left Athens empty handed.

Euro 2020 qualification is now out of Bosnia's hands, with them needing to beat Italy and Liechtenstein in their final two Group J games - and requiring Finland to drop points against Liechtenstein and Greece next month.

Dani Ceballos played the duration as Spain rescued a dramatic point against Sweden in Solna. Marcus Berg gave the hosts the lead just after half-time and they looked to be heading for an historic win, until Rodrigo levelled in the second minute of stoppage time to rescue a point for La Roja.

Sweden have now closed the gap on Group F leaders Spain to just five points with just two games to go in the race for Euro 2020 qualification.

Granit Xhaka helped Switzerland secure a crucial qualifying win over 10-man Republic of Ireland. Haris Seferovic opened the scoring after just 16 minutes and after Seamus Coleman saw red for a second bookable offence, Shane Duffy turned past his own goalkeeper to add to Ireland's woes in Carouge.

Third-placed Switzerland are now just one point behind Group D leaders Republic of Ireland, with one game in hand.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang played 90 minutes of Gabon's 3-2 friendly win over Morocco in Tangier. Aaron Boupendza, Denis Bouanga and Issam Chebake's own goal sealed the win for the Panthers, with Nordin Amrabat striking twice for the hosts.

And finally, Lucas Torreira was an unused substitute in Uruguay's friendly draw with Peru in Lima. Christofer Gonzalez opened the scoring, before Darwin Nunez levelled 10 minutes from time.
