Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

His future at the club is uncertain, but with 17 Premier League goals, second only to Leicester's Jamie Vardy this season, Aubameyang is the obvious choice. He has shone under Arteta in an unfamiliar left-sided role and also captained the side, earning praise for his leadership.

Bernd Leno

Bernd Leno is confident Arsenal will improve this season due to the club's attacking options

Arsenal have conceded 36 goals in the Premier League this season but that number would be considerably higher if not for Leno's performances in goal. Only Newcastle's Martin Dubravka has made more saves this season and supporters have been grateful for his contributions.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka

He has started less than half of Arsenal's Premier League games but few team-mates players have attracted as many plaudits as Saka this season. The 18-year-old has excelled as a marauding full-back, contributing a regular stream of assists from the left flank and marking himself out as one of the best young players in the country.

Granit Xhaka

A

The Swiss midfielder endured a wretched first half of the season, culminating in being booed off by Arsenal fans during a Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium. But such is the paucity of candidates for their player of the season award that his much-improved performances under Arteta make him worthy of consideration.

David Luiz

David Luiz shone against Manchester United

Like Xhaka, the Brazilian has shown significant improvement under Arteta in the second half of the season. He has helped to provide a more solid defensive base, earning the man-of-the-match award in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Manchester United in January, and providing leadership too.
