Chelsea winger Willian yet to make decision over future

Willian's agent confirms that the Chelsea winger is yet to make a decision over his future amid speculation linking him to Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Juventus.

Chelsea winger Willian is yet to make a decision over his future beyond the end of the current season.

The 31-year-old's contract at Stamford Bridge expires this summer, and an extension looks increasingly unlikely with the two parties unable to agree terms over the length of any new deal.

A host of clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Juventus and Barcelona, have been linked with an interest in the Brazilian, whose preference is reportedly to remain in London.

Willian's agent Kia Joorabchian admitted that his client is in an "awkward" situation, but insists that a decision will not be made over his future until a plan to come out of the coronavirus shutdown becomes clearer.

"We are not sure at the moment how football is going to finish in terms of the season. We do know that there is a vote to try to get training back on on May 18, and from there on see if we can get some games back in mid-June," Joorabchian told talkSPORT.

"We are not sure how FIFA and the Premier League will make decisions in terms of free agents and what happens when their contracts expire.

"There will have to be a lot of conversations, it's not just Willian but I think all free agent players are in an awkward situation because 'do you sign a new contract, do you sign for a month, or even a longer period'. That will be something that will play itself out closer to the time."

Willian has been with Chelsea since 2013, scoring 59 goals and creating 59 more in 329 appearances across all competitions.
