Lazio reject chance to sign Arsenal's Lucas Torreira?

Lazio reportedly turn down the chance to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, who appears to be heading for the exit door at the Emirates.

Lazio have reportedly turned down the chance to sign out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The 24-year-old hit the ground running at the Emirates following his arrival from Sampdoria in 2018, but Torreira struggled to nail down a regular spot in the starting lineup during the most recent season.

Furthermore, with fellow midfielder Dani Ceballos rejoining the Gunners for a second season-long loan spell, Torreira appears to be inching closer towards the exit door at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new campaign.

The Uruguay international has been tipped to move back to Serie A, but according to The Times, Lazio are not interested in Torreira despite being offered the chance to sign him.

Torino and Fiorentina have both been touted as potential destinations for Torreira should he seek pastures new this summer, with a recent report claiming that the latter are close to agreeing a deal for the South American.

Torreira turned out 39 times for Arsenal across all competitions during the 2019-20 season, but the former Sampdoria man started just 17 Premier League games for the Gunners.
