The Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta, says the fan backlash over the failed Super League was 'probably the strongest message that has ever been sent in the football world,' and believes that abandoning the plan was the right thing to do. 'When the fans had to come out, they were really loud and clear,' Arteta said. 'And every club, leaving their interest apart, has done the right thing.'
