Biereth waiting in the wings as Arsenal confirm Moller loan

Arsenal have confirmed that 19-year-old striker Nikolaj Moller will spend next season on loan with German third-tier side FC Viktoria Koln.

The Swede joined the Gunners last summer from Malmo and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with the under-23s where he dovetailed with Folarin Balogun.

The aim is for Moller to gain further experience at senior level before reintegrating him into the fold in 2022.

The Gunners have moved quickly to cover the striker’s absence. On Saturday, The Athletic (£) reported that we’ve snapped up Fulham’s Mika Biereth after he turned down a pro contract at Craven Cottage.

The 18-year-old scored 21 goals and made 13 assists in 21 games at under-18 level last season.

How do Biereth’s Goals and assists totals at U18 ranks against the rest of the U18 in same league?

K9ine

Why do I feel Moller will be a star in football without actually watching him play.
Good luck to him

I think out of Balogun, Moller and now the very well spoken of Biereth, we’ve almost definitely got a future Arsenal number 9 in the ranks.

The academy is just the gift that keeps on giving at the moment. Long may it continue!

Heavenly Chapecoense

Our academy only produces very good full back players, wingers and goal keepers (that we manage to let go). In terms of providing the first team with great CF and Center Back, our academy is poor. Hope Balogoun will be the exception.

I think that’s probably the case for most academies. CF and CB are so dependent on experience and know how. I can’t think of any prem teams with academy CB’s playing and only a couple of CF’s. Kane and Rashford immediately spring to mind.

21 goals in 21 games is impressive.

Charles MMM

Very impressive on what ever level it was done.

Isn’t Moller good enough to go to a higher tier team than German division three?

Matthinc

Maybe to guarantee him game time week in will out. Also, much closer to home for him, might be part of the thinking?

James

I can only assume that this is the first of several loans over the next few years. Its more just to get experience of senior football.

Chrispy

More senior experience and then send him to some shit 3rd division team. Yup makes sense.

leon

A very promising young player that is being compared to Zlatan – basically because he is the same height and is Swedish.
This loan move might be the making of him – it will provide some experience at least.
I am far more concerned with the first team – hardly set the world on fire with improving it so far…

Biereth is what Mike Tyson orders for him and his friends at the bar
