The Premier League is the richest and arguably the most competitive football league in the world.

That explains why a plethora of top players have graced the competition. They include Eric Cantona, Alan Shearer, Ryan Giggs, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and more recently, Mohamed Salah, Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne, among others.

While any Premier League club can beat another on a given day, six clubs stand head and shoulders above the rest because of their competitiveness and history. The sextet comprises Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur - not necessarily in that order.

Except for Spurs, each of the five aforementioned teams have won the Premier League at least once. All six clubs are regulars in European competitions, and have won or reached at least one Champions League final.

Considering the pedigree of the Premier League's Big Six, only a handful of players have scored big against them.

On that note, here's a look at the seven players with the most goals against the Premier League's Big Six. Without further ado, let's get started.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a prolific scorer in the Premier League. He has netted 66 goals, all for Arsenal, in 119 games in the competition across five seasons.

The 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot winner has nearly 20 times against the competition's Big Six. Most of his goals (8) against the sextet have come against Tottenham Hotspur.

Aubameyang has scored against Spurs in three different competitions - Premier League (4), Europa League (3) and Champions League (1).

These strikes include a Premier League brace for Arsenal and one in the Europa League for Borussia Dortmund. Aubameyand's latest strike against the Premier League top-six club came in Arsenal's 3-1 win in the north London derby last weekend.

#6 Harry Kane - 27

Harry Kane is one of the most prolific active scorers in Premier League history. The Tottenham forward has scored 166 goals in the competition, all for Spurs.

The 28-year-old is a three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner, topping both the goalscoring and assist-providing charts in the competition last summer. Kane has scored over 20 goals against the Premier League's Big Six.

Most of his goals against the sextet have come against Arsenal and Chelsea, against whom he has netted 11 and six times, respectively. Surprisingly, Kane is yet to open his account this season, drawing a blank in Spurs' 3-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal last weekend.

Kane will hope to rediscover his scoring boots soon after a prolific campaign with England at Euro 2020. He scored four times in the Three Lions' run to the final.

#5 Lionel Messi - 27

Lionel Messi has scored a lot of goals against the Premier League's Big Six. In fact, he is the only player on this list who has never played in the competition.

The Argentine is widely regarded as one of the best players to have graced the game. He is one of two players to score over 100 goals in the Champions League. All of Messi's goals against the Premier League's Big Six have come in this competition.

Messi, who won Copa America 2021 with Argentina this summer, loves scoring Arsenal. He has netted nine goals in the Champions League against the Gunners, including four in one game. That is the most he has scored against any opposition in the competition.

Unsurprisingly, Messi has also found success against other top clubs in the Premier League. He has scored in two Champions League finals against Manchester United. On Tuesday, he opened his account for PSG by scoring against City, marking the seventh time he scored against the Cityzens.

The Argentine will look to replicate his Barcelona exploits at his new club, now that he has opened his account for them.

#4 Cristiano Ronaldo - 28

Like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players to have played the beautiful game.

The 36-year-old recently scored a brace in his first Premier League game in 12 years. He now has 87 goals in the competition, all for Manchester United, in seven different Premier League campaigns.

Most of Ronaldo's goals against the Premier League's Big Six have come in the English top flight. His favorite Premier League club happens to be Tottenham Hotspur, against whom Ronaldo has scored ten times.

Ronaldo has also scored three times against his current club, doing so in the Champions League. His only goal against Chelsea came in the 2009 Champions League final, failing to score against them in ten Premier League games.

#3 Eden Hazard - 29

Considering his scoring woes at Real Madrid, it may be surprising to note that Eden Hazard has scored over 25 goals against the Premier League's Big Six.

The Real Madrid winger, then playing for Chelsea, scored the goal that confirmed Leicester City as the Premier League's newest and unlikeliest of champions in 2016.

Hazard, a two-time Premier League winner, scored seven times against both Arsenal and Liverpool. He scored six times against Spurs, five times against Manchester United and four times against Manchester City as well.

#2 Jamie Vardy - 40

Jamie Vardy is one of the unlikeliest of Premier League winners in the competition's storeyed three-decade-old history.

The Leicester City striker emerged from the obscurities of non-league football to win the Premier League in 2015-16. He scored 24 goals in the Foxes' fairy tale triumph. Four years later, the 34-year-old netted 23 times to win his first Premier League Golden Boot award as Leicester narrowly missed out on the Champions League.

With 123 goals in just eight competitions, Vardy is one of the Premier League's most prolific active scorers. He has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon, having netted five times already in the competition this season.

Remarkably, most of Vardy's Premier League goals have come against the Premier League's Big Six. The former England international has netted 11 times against Arsenal, nine times against Tottenham and eight times against both City and Liverpool.

Vardy has also scored five times against 13-time Premier League champions Manchester United.

#1 Sergio Aguero - 54 goals

Sergio Aguero is a bonafide legend of the Premier League. The five-time winner is the only player to score over 50 goals against the competition's Big Six.

Three of the Premier League's Big Six clubs happen to be Aguero's most favorite opposition. The Copa America 2021 winner scored 15 times against Arsenal, 12 times against Arsenal and 11 times against Spurs. He also netted nine times against Manchester United and seven times against Liverpool.

During a highly successful decade-long stint in the Premier League, Aguero (184) became the competition's most prolific foreign scorer in his final game in the competition.

The Argentine provided one of the most iconic moments in Premier League history. He did so by scoring a dramatic injury-time winner on the last day of the 2011-12 season to seal Manchester City's first title in the competition.

A decade later, the Kun Aguero moment remains a part of Premier League and Manchester City folklore.

Aguero scored at least 20 times in six of his ten seasons in the English top flight. His 12 hat-tricks are the most by any player in the competition.
