Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe says Mikel Arteta has played a key role in his recent goal-scoring form, according to a report.

Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe has praised Mikel Arteta for his influence on his recent goalscoring form, according to a report.

The midfielder has netted three goals in his last five games for club and country, including the decisive strike in England Under-21s' 1-0 win over Andorra on Monday.

Smith Rowe also found the back of the net in Arsenal's 3-0 North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur last month, while he came off the bench to score in the 3-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup.

According to The Mirror, the 21-year-old said: "It's really good at Arsenal, we're really happy with the help we're getting.

"[Arteta] has spoken to us and given us so much confidence to stay calm. We know we're going to be getting into these positions. We've got to stay as calm as possible and just focus on the goal really.

"We've been practising a lot in training, after training and we get the support from the experienced players in the team as well, they're always helping us."

Smith Rowe has been at Arsenal since the age of 10 and has made 53 appearances for the first team after making his debut in September 2018.
