Transfer news: Arsenal make Vlahovic offer, Spurs in Adama talks, Haaland opens up

EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news with the January window in full swing.

Premier League transfer rumours - January 14th

The January transfer window is well underway and plenty of business has already been done as Premier League clubs look to strengthen their ranks in time for the second half of the campaign. The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been tipped to add to their squads over the coming weeks as teams up and down the country begin to put their plans for the mid-season market into action.

One of the biggest stories at present involves the future of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is reportedly being chased by Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has failed to commit to a new deal in Italy and could move on before the end of the month if the Gunners manage to tempt his current employers into cashing in on their prized asset.

Tottenham are also said to be keen on adding some new faces before the January window slams shut, with Wolves winger Adama Traore having been earmarked as a target by those in north London.

Meanwhile, it seems as though Erling Haaland could soon be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund, with the German heavyweights pushing him to make a final decision on his immediate future over the coming weeks.

Express Sport is on hand to bring you all the latest news from the Premier League and across Europe with live updates throughout the day.

Newcastle dealt Botman blow

Lille president Olivier Letang has confirmed that Newcastle United target Sven Botman will remain at the French club until at least the end of the current season.

"We have a very clear position that we need him, so Sven Botman will stay with us until the end of the season to help us achieve these goals," he said.

“We have high objectives, with a qualification for the European Cup for the end of the season, and the [Champions League] round of 16 against Chelsea.

"Even if they are favourites, if we think we have no chance, we wouldn't even go to London. So we have to keep a high quality workforce.

"There are four and a half months left to finish this season, so we have to keep the team as competitive as possible."

Chelsea want Gomez

Chelsea are weighing up a move for Anderlecht defender Sergio Gomez to serve as a replacement for Ben Chilwell, according to TEAMtalk.

The European champions are said to be keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who has represented Spain at youth level and is comfortable in any position on the left flank.

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen on landing a new wing-back to provide Marcos Alonso with some additional competition for his starting spot in the absence of Chilwell.

The latter is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury and is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing corrective surgery.

Newcastle to land Gosens?

Newcastle United are reportedly making progress in their efforts to bring Atalanta and Germany defender Robin Gosens to St James' Park before this month's transfer deadline.

The 27-year-old has already agreed terms on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Magpies, according to Sky Italia.

However, Newcastle are still waiting to ensure that Gosens will be able to overcome his recent injury before submitting a final offer to Atalanta.

Conte coy on Spurs future

Antonio Conte has refused to commit his long-term future to Tottenham, insisting that he is fully focused on the present when quizzed on the matter ahead of tomorrow's north London derby.

"It is important to live in the present, to try in the present to improve the situation and get out the best of my players," Conte told reporters.

"To work to improve the situation because the present is now, the future is later. Later could be too much later for us.

"We have to be focused on the present and work to try to improve the situation now. Then I will see.

"Now we have to be focused on the present and we have to work a lot to try to keep Tottenham in the right position."

Arsenal launch Costa enquiry

Arsenal have reached out to Atletico Mineiro over the possibility of a move for ex-Chelsea striker Diego Costa, according to Goal.

The veteran marksman is said to be close to terminating his current deal with the Brazilian outfit and has been earmarked as a potential target by those in command at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are yet to lodge an official proposal but have already made an informal consultation to gain an insight into Costa's plans for the immediate future.

Rodgers offers Tielemans update

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Youri Tielemans could leave the club in the near future and that he may soon be forced to prepare for life without the midfielder.

Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, who has just 18 months remaining on his current deal at the King Power Stadium.

"He is at an age and at a stage in his contract where he has to ensure he looks at every option," Rodgers told reporters.

"I would love it to be here at Leicester, that is natural, but I understand it's a very short career.

"For players it's about ambition, the challenge and sometimes it's about a different environment, we have seen it before many times."

Haaland speaks on future

Erling Haaland has revealed that Borussia Dortmund are pressuring him to make a quick decision on whether or not to leave the club ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old, who is widely considered as one of the planet's most feared strikers, has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid in recent months.

"The last six months I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Borussia Dortmund, but now the club has started pressing me into making a decision," Haaland told Norwegian broadcaster Viasat on Friday.

"All I want to do is to play football, but they press me to make a decision now about my future. So that means I have to make a decision soon."

Spurs explore Adama options

Tottenham are prepared to offer as many as four players in exchange for Wolves winger Adama Traore, according to TEAMtalk.

It is said that any of Jack Clarke, Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon and Joe Rodon could end up going the other way after being mentioned in discussions with the west Midlands outfit.

A move for Adama is not believed to be dependent on Wolves taking one or more players, but the idea of a part-exchange deal is among the options under consideration.

The Spaniard is reportedly open to leaving Molineux before the end of the month after failing to agree a new contract with his current employers.

Arsenal make Vlahovic offer

Arsenal have submitted a formal bid in the region of £58.4million for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to La Repubblica.

The report claims that Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso is now considering whether to accept the bid or wait until the summer to let go of his prized asset.

It is said that Vlahovic was initially happy to leave at the end of the campaign, but Arsenal's insistence on a move has the potential to tempt him into a Premier League switch before the January window slams shut.

The Serbia international has rejected the opportunity to extend his stay at Fiorentina and is widely expected to leave the club before the start of next season.
