Transfer news: Man Utd's De Jong announcement plan, Spurs seal deal, Raphinha twist

EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest transfer news and gossip with multiple big moves imminent in the Premier League.

De Jong quizzed on Man Utd transfer links

Premier League clubs continue to work at furious pace to improve their squads ahead of the new season as pre-season rapidly approaches. Some teams are already back in training ahead of the new campaign and will welcome some new faces to their camps. Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal are among those looking to clinch some high-profile additions this week.

Arsenal are poised to announce the £45million arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. But the Gunners look like they may miss out on Leeds United winger Raphinha, also courted by Chelsea and Tottenham.

Chelsea look to have stolen a march on their rivals and hope to bring the Brazilian in for an initial £55m. They also want to take Raheem Sterling from City as the Blues strengthen out wide. Manchester United are meanwhile closing in on their first signings with Tyrell Malacia said to be preferring a move to Old Trafford rather than Lyon.

While the Red Devils hope to finally close a deal to bring in Frenkie de Jong this week. And Tottenham are eager to bring in Everton's Richarlison having attempted a deal that also would've taken his team-mate Anthony Gordon to London.

Moussa Sissoko leaves Watford

Watford midfielder Moussa Sissoko has undergone a medical with Nantes in France after the Ligue 1 side agreed a £1.7m deal with the Hornets.

The former Tottenham man spent just one season at Vicarage Road as Watford prepare to overhaul their squad ahead of their return to the Championship under new manager Rob Edwards.

He will sign a two-year deal with Nantes after nearly 10 years in the Premier League following his January 2013 move to Newcastle from Toulouse.

Meanwhile, Watford left-back Hassane Kamara is also attracting interest from Lyon as they look to explore alternatives to Tyrell Malacia.

The French side agreed a deal with Feyenoord but Manchester United now look set to sign the highly-rated Dutch left-back after hijacking the deal.

Tottenham set to agree Richarlison deal

Tottenham are set to agree a fee for Richarlison within the next 24 hours, according to Football.London.

Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold says the Toffees need to get the deal in place before the FFP deadline, so they can balance the books.

Richarlison has already liked a post on Twitter that appears to suggest he is off...

Tottenham plan fresh Richarlison talks

Tottenham are planning fresh talks with Everton as they look to close a deal for Richarlison.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims Spurs also want to land a right-back.

The transfer expert tweeted: "Tottenham have already scheduled new round of talks for Richarlison. Work in progress with Everton but deal structure has to be discussed again, no issues on personal terms.

"Spurs are also working to sign new right back."

Inter confirm Lukaku capture

Inter Milan have now confirmed the signing of Romelu Lukaku, who rejoins the Italian club on loan from Chelsea.

The Belgian will be looking to mark his mark in Serie A once again next season after a disappointing return to west London...

Lukaku leaves Inter HQ

Romelu Lukaku's loan return to Inter Milan is all but done after he was pictured leaving the Italian club's headquarters.

The Belgian's £97.5m club-record return to Chelsea has simply not gone to plan but now he will get the chance to make it up to Inter's supporters following his controversial San Siro exit last summer.

The deal does not include a permanent option.

Arsenal open talks over Wilshere return

Arsenal have held talks with Jack Wilshere as they look to fill U23 and U18 vacancies, according to The Evening Standard.

The former Gunners star was training with Mikel Arteta's side before signing for Danish Superliga club AGF.

Now he could be in line for a shock return to north London in a role that would see him help out Arsenal's youth players.

It's a recent trend that is gathering popularity after Liverpool recently signed Jay Spearing to play for their youth teams.

Lucas Torreira rules out Arsenal stay

Lucas Torreira has ruled out staying at Arsenal, despite Fiorentina failing to reach an agreement with the Gunners over a transfer.

“There is no chance. From the beginning, they told me that I didn’t have a place, so I don’t want to stay either," he told El Telegrafo.

"We’ll look for a new direction. Any team that wants me has to buy me, which would be around €15m.”

Barcelona plot Raphinha hijack

Barcelona are looking to hijack Chelsea's deal to sign Raphinha, according to Gerard Romero.

The Blues have already agreed a £60m deal with Leeds but the player is seemingly keen to hold out for Barca to make their move.

His agent Deco was spotted leaving Barcelona's offices earlier today and it's believed together with the club, they were plotting a late hijack.

Barca still somehow need to find the cash to match Chelsea's proposal, which still seems unlikely.

Arsenal defender to seal Sunderland move

Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard is close to joining Championship side Sunderland after his £2m Burnley move collapsed.

The former Blackpool and Millwall loanee had even undergone a medical with the Clarets before the move broke down over personal terms.

His switch to the North East is understood to have moved very quickly in the past 24 hours.

Millwall were keen on bringing him back on a permanent deal but the Lions are now pursuing other targets, one of which is Charlie Cresswell of Leeds.

Burnley eye Wout Weghorst replacement

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is exploring a deal for 22-year-old Standard Liege striker Jackson Muleka, Express Sport understands.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo forward netted 12 times in 14 outings in the second half of last season while on loan Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig.

Muleka is one of the names in contention to replace January flop Wout Weghorst, who is expected to join Besiktas on loan. They also hold an interest in Muleka and Reading forward Lucas Joao.

Yet the Clarets are not the only team in contention for Muleka's signature with several German, Belgian and Turkish clubs also monitoring his situation.

Some reports suggest Burnley have already made an offer for Muleka, although Express Sport has been unable to firm that information up.

Man Utd made Lisandro Martinez request

Manchester United have asked Ajax to keep them informed on the future of Lisandro Martinez.

Goal claim the Red Devils want to be made aware of any developments as they continue to weigh up a swoop for the 24-year-old centre-back.

Arsenal have made a new offer worth £35m plus £5m in add-ons for the Argentina international.

Martinez worked under Ten Hag at Ajax but they are yet to present a formal offer for the defender, who is on their transfer shortlist.

Gordon stance on Spurs transfer

Tottenham have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Anthony Gordon following reports that the Everton winger is keen to join Antonio Conte's ranks. However, the 21-year-old will not push for a Toffees exit this summer, serving Spurs a blow.

Bellingham price tag

Borussia Dortmund will reportedly refuse to sell Jude Bellingham for anything less than £103million when they finally allow him to leave the club in the summer of 2023.

It will take a massive fee for anyone - with the Reds huge admirers of the England international - to sign Bellingham according to Sport Bild.

The German news website claims that Dortmund will not sanction a sale of Bellingham until next year at the earliest. And when they do, they will hold the advantage in any negotiations, with the midfielder's contract not expiring until 2025.

His deal also does not contain a release clause, meaning Dortmund can virtually name their price. That price is said to be at least £103m, with the Bundesliga giants only open to talking to clubs who submit a fee of at least that figure.

Trio set for Bremer talks

Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal will all hold talks with Torino over centre-back Gleison Bremer, say 90min.

The Serie A side want around £43million for the Brazilian, who could soon be playing for the Italian national team.

Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati will fly to London to talk with the Premier League trio about a prospective deal.

Spurs are also looking at Barcelona's Clement Lenglet, with Chelsea in discussions over a host of centre-halves and Arsenal eager to land Lisandro Martinez, who Manchester United also want.

Palace clinch £22m deal

Mali international midfielder Cheick Doucoure is set to undergo a medical at Crystal Palace after the Eagles struck a £22m deal with Lens, reports Express Sport's Ryan Taylor.

Selhurst Park delegates travelled to France for face-to-face talks with the Ligue 1 club before agreeing an initial fee of £18m plus £4m in add-ons.

Palace saw an offer of £15m rejected by Lens in the past few weeks but Patrick Vieira was desperate to land the 22-year-old amid interest from other Premier League clubs.

England international goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will also officially complete his move to Palace on July 1 following the expiry of his West Brom contract.

Man Utd to make Martinez bid

Arsenal could miss out on Lisandro Martinez - because Manchester United are set to table a bid close to meeting Ajax's demands.

Ajax want around £43.5million for Martinez and per talkSPORT, United are ready to become the closest team to meeting that figure yet.

Arsenal's initial bid of around £29m was turned down by the Dutch club. It's though they have since made an offer of around £35.

Barca's stance on De Jong

Earlier we brought you news that Frenkie de Jong will refuse to leave Barcelona to join Manchester United.

And now, Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona are still hoping the player will leave.

That's with Pedri and Gavi available options in midfield and Barca in desperate need of fixing their financial problems.

They would stand to make a guaranteed £56m in instalments with more in add-ons if De Jong and United are successful together. But to get a deal over the line there will need to be some compromises made it seems.

Liverpool reject offer

Liverpool have rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest for Neco Williams, Express Sport understands.

The Wales international is a target for Forest, Southampton and Fulham and is valued at over £15million.

The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham but Championship play-off winners Forest are equally as keen on the full-back.

But Liverpool have rejected their first approach for Williams. As it stands it is unclear if Forest will improve their offer or move on to other targets.

Leeds beaten to Man City youngster

Manchester City are reluctantly set to let Romeo Lavia join Southampton according to The Athletic.

Leeds were also keen on the 18-year-old but it is the south coast and Southampton where the exciting midfielder is headed.

City did not want to lose Lavia but have signed Kalvin Phillips this summer and so Lavia's first-team opportunities would have been limited.

City have insisted on the option to buy back Lavia in the future. They have already sold goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu for £12m rising to £15m with add-ons to Southampton this summer.

De Jong alternatives

If De Jong really does refuse to join Manchester United, who could they target instead?

Express Sport takes a look at four potential options HERE.

Raphinha to Chelsea close

Raphinha is 'one step away' from becoming a Chelsea player, it has been claimed.

The Blues will hand the Brazilian wages of around £6million to move to Stamford Bridge says Gianluigi Longari.

De Jong refuses Man Utd move

Frenkie de Jong will refuse to leave Barcelona to join Manchester United, Spanish outlet Sport have claimed in a bombshell report.

They claim despite an agreement between the two clubs over a transfer fee, De Jong is 'determined to stay' at Barca.

The Dutchman allegedly has 'no intention of leaving' the Nou Camp this summer and is said to have made his stance clear to both clubs.

It is unclear whether his wish will prevent a deal or whether United's desire to sign him and Barca's ambitions to free up finances will force through the deal regardless of De Jong's feelings.

Sport add that the player's refusal to leave has created a 'tense' situation.

Arsenal's Martinez advantage

Arsenal have been handed a transfer advantage when it comes to signing Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez this summer as it has been claimed that Manchester United would apparently prefer to sign Pau Torres from Villarreal.

According to 90min, Arsenal are now in pole position to land Martinez as Torres is United's preferred signing in defence.

ESPN report that the Gunners have submitted an improved £34.5million offer for the Argentine after having a £26m bid for him turned down earlier this month.

Ajax are under no pressure to sell and are holding out for £43m.

Spurs make Richarlison progress

Tottenham are getting closer to a deal for Richarlison, it seems.

Fabrizio Romano reports Spurs are making progress in their talks with the Toffees for the Brazilian attacker.

The 25-year-old is believed to be eager to move on after four seasons at Goodison Park, with Everton having battled relegation last term.

Everton stand firm on Richarlison

Everton will stick to their demand of £60million for Richarlison as Tottenham look to steal the Brazilian away from the Toffees.

That's according to the Mirror. Spurs had an offer rejected that would've taken Richarlison and Anthony Gordon to north London.

Everton also said to be reluctant to accept any swap deals. Spurs had offered them Harry Winks and Steven Bergwijn but they prefer a straight cash move if they are to lose Richarlison.

Lukaku in Milan

Romelu Lukaku landed in Milan this morning as he completes a return to Inter after an unsuccessful season back at Chelsea.

The Belgian striker only rejoined the Blues from Inter last summer but now heads back to the Italian club on a season-long loan.

He flew out to Italy today and Inter will pay a £6.9m loan fee plus £3.5m in add-ons if they win the league. His wages will be paid in full.

Man Utd agree two deals

As well as agreeing a fee to sign Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, the Manchester Evening News report Manchester United also have an agreement in place to land Frenkie de Jong.

It's claimed De Jong will cost an initial £56m with add-ons inflating that fee further.

The Dutch midfielder, whose move is still dependent on a successful medical, has been Erik ten Hag's top summer target. The pair worked together at Ajax.

United are now ready to move on to other plans with Christian Eriksen, Antony and Lisandro Martinez all also targets.

Chelsea in new talks

Chelsea have opened up talks with Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly's agent 'in the last few hours'.

That's the claim from Gianluca di Marzio who say Chelsea are considering turning to the Senegal international due to the price tags of Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar and Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt.

Koulibaly will come cheaper as his contract expires in a year's time and contact has been made with his agent regarding a potential move.

Arsenal to hijack Raphinha to Chelsea?

Chelsea are moving 'very, very fast' to complete the signing of Leeds United winger Raphinha - but Arsenal could still cause a last-minute hitch.

Chelsea have already met with former player Deco, Raphinha's agent, and hope to reach an agreement over personal terms within the next 48 hours to wrap up a deal, CBS Sports report.

Arsenal have had a bid rejected by Leeds for Raphinha and it's claimed sources are not ruling out an improved second offer for the winger, who could cost up to £65m.

However, Chelsea are said to be confident they will get a deal done despite the possibility of an Arsenal hijack.

Man Utd first summer signing

Manchester United target Tyrell Malacia has chosen to join the Red Devils instead of Lyon, say L'Equipe. Lyon had agreed a fee with Feyenoord for the Dutch left-back ahead of United but the 22-year-old has informed the French outfit he'd rather link up with United the report claims.

That's despite Lyon having been waiting for the player to fly over for a medical and complete the formalities of a switch.

Feyenoord technical director Frank Arnesen said last night: "The agreement is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent."

Malacia will become Erik ten Hag's first signing at United and will cost around £16m if all add-ons are paid for the Netherlands international.
