Gunners get their hands on history at adidas HQ

Hector Bellerin at adidas HQ

Our players took some time out of their busy training schedule to take a look around adidas’ HQ in Herzogenaurach, Germany, and come face-to-face with some historical footballing artefacts in the process.

Mikel Arteta's men are staying at the world-class facility as they ramp up their pre-season preparations, culminating in a game against 1. FC Nurnberg on Friday, which can be viewed live on Arsenal.com or in our official app - details.

During some down time they were offered the chance to visit the company's Walk of Fame and check out the adidas archive.

The tour saw them learn the storied history of adidas with products displayed from each decade, starting from the formation under Adi Dassler in the late 1940s, through to the current day.

The archive is home to an incredible exhibition of products, including boots worn in the 1954 World Cup final between West Germany and Hungary, Zinedine Zidane’s 2006 World Cup boots, as well as several cult adidas Arsenal shirts from down the years.

The players were even given the honour of being able to handle these unique objects, and you can see how much they enjoyed the experience in our gallery below:
