All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours from across the British and foreign press on Monday, May 29.

Arsene Wenger is set to stand his ground with the Arsenal board this week and call for no major changes to the way he manages, the Daily Star reports.

Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke and other board members will meet tomorrow to discuss the future of Wenger, who will oppose suggestions of appointing a sporting director or other big shifts from the current managerial system.

While most media outlets are reporting that the Frenchman will stay at Arsenal, the Daily Mirror also adds that he will ask for assurances from the board that they are fully behind him as manager.

Wenger has a year left on his current deal and announced after Saturday's FA Cup final victory that a decision would be announced on "Wednesday or Thursday".

The man himself believes that he should be given a new deal, and when asked if he had a presentation prepared for Tuesday's meeting, Wenger said: "The best presentation is to watch the game [against Chelsea].

"I've played until the end of my contract, which is today basically. I think I have shown you that I have exactly the same commitment."

They are yet to be successful in their pursuit of the defender, but with Wenger's future hanging in the balance, Bilbao believe this summer could be their best chance yet of landing their man.

Arsenal are also being continually linked to a move for Torino striker Andrea Belotti, with The Sun reporting that the Gunners will beat Chelsea and Manchester United to his signature.
