Chelsea v Man Utd or Arsenal vs Reading? Why BBC decided to take on Sky in clash of prime-time TV

The BBC and the Football Association have chosen to go head-to-head with Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage on Saturday after deciding to screen the first FA Cup semi-final at the same time as Chelsea’s match against Manchester United. The clash has caused considerable surprise inside football, with the BBC having had a choice of scheduling slots this weekend but selecting the match between Arsenal and Reading to kick-off at 5.20pm on Saturday.
