Arsenal fans demand Mesut Ozil contract announcement after social media mix up
Ozil enjoyed an excellent month with three assists and one goal in his three league appearances. The German midfielder won with more than half of the votes cast ahead of Shkodran Mustafi and Aaron Ramsey in third. Arsenal announced Ozil’s award on Twitter with the tweet: “Congratulations, @MesutOzil1088.” And it appears many fans thought they were receiving the news they’d been waiting for all season - the renewal of Ozil's contract. One fan replied: “I THOUGHT HE SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT FFS.” Another said: “I THOUGHT THIS WAS A CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT NOOOO.” GETTY
