Arsenal news: Benali was critical of the Gunners defence vs Southampton
Mertesacker gave the ball away and fell over in the build up to Charlie Austin’s opening goal for Southampton. The German came into the side for the injured Shkodran Mustafi, who went off early in the 3-1 loss to Manchester United last weekend with a thigh injury. Former Southampton star Francis Benali was not impressed with the Gunners defending early in the game. “He does well, he still has a bit to do Charlie Austin,” Benali told BT Sport.
