Arsenal star Mesut Ozil reveals why he signed new deal despite Man Utd and Barcelona links MESUT OZIL has revealed that he signed a new Arsenal contract because he has unfinished business at the club. By Harry Howes / Published 13th March 2018 GETTY Mesut Ozil signed a new Arsenal deal in January The German’s previous deal was set to expire this summer and he was expected to follow in the footsteps of Alexis Sanchez and leave the club. A number of European heavyweights were linked with his signature, including Sanchez’s new club Manchester United and Barcelona. But Ozil put pen to paper on deadline day to extend his stay at the Emirates for another three-and-a-half years....
