Arsenal news: UEFA to confirm Danny Welbeck ‘diving’ decision on Monday

Welbeck went down in the box after a coming together with Milan left-back Ricardo Rodriguez. After a short delay, the referee awarded the spot-kick which Welbeck converted to make it 1-1. Arsenal won the match 3-1 with Welbeck getting a second goal late on but much of the talk after the match was not on the safe passage into the quarter-finals but whether the England striker had dived. Alan Shearer accused Welbeck of committing a “blatant dive” but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger refused to state whether he thought the striker was guilty of simulation.
