Arsene Wenger is hoping Jack Wilshere will sign a new contract at Arsenal but admits an agreement is no closer. Wilshere, who joined the club as a nine-year old, has been offered fresh terms with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season. But, while Wenger is eager for the 26-year-old to stay, the midfielder is reported to be unhappy with what is on the table.
