Hosting Manchester City on the first day of the new Premier League season was always going to be a baptism of fire for Unai Emery, but Arsenal's performance against the reigning champions nonetheless left some cause for concern. Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan just couldn't get into the game, at least not in advantageous positions, and consequently Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hardly made a mark as an increasingly isolated lone striker.
