Granit Xhaka is hardly the best player in the world, and whilst he's proven to be quite good at times at the Emirates, his inconsistencies have made him a figure that a lot of Arsenal fans struggle to get behind. His recent comments haven't helped either, as in an interview with Blick he claimed that he would be 'incredibly proud' to wear the armband in north London. As mentioned in the Blick interview, Unai Emery had chosen a group of possible captains that contained Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Laurent Koscielny, Petr Cech and Mesut Ozil.
