Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after they discovered that Nicolas Pepe had scored for the Ivory Coast in their 3-1 win over DR Congo on Sunday. The forward – who cost a club-record £72m from Lille back in the summer – back-heeled into an empty net after some good play from Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha – the Gunners tried to sign the Eagles winger back in the summer before they captured Pepe.
