Match report: Arsenal Women 2-0 Lewes

WHAT HAPPENED Caitlin Foord scored on her debut as we booked our place in the Women’s FA Cup quarter-final with a 2-0 victory over Lewes at Meadow Park. Although the Australia international was making her maiden appearance since her January transfer, the game’s first chance fell to a more familiar face in Jordan Nobbs who collected the ball on the edge of the box and took a touch before firing wide. Midway through the first half Foord almost broke the deadlock when she lost her marker and looked certain to tap home Nobbs’ cross, but the ball narrowly evaded our striker’s path.
