Chelsea and Arsenal 'made contact' with Real Madrid over Vinicius Jr transfer
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr was the subject of approaches from London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal last year, it has emerged. PSG were also in the hunt for the 20-year-old talent, who only moved to the Bernabeu from Flamengo in 2018. La Liga champions Real forked out around £39m to sign him from the Brazilian outfit. And their confidence in the attacker is so big that a £630m release clause was inserted into his contract in Madrid. Clubs can still sign him for less than that figure, though, if they agree a fee with Real. And Arsenal were looking at Vinicius Jr during Unai Emery’s time in charge.
