Mesut Ozil explains why he refused to take pay cut at Arsenal amid job losses

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has stated that he refused to accept a 12.5 per cent pay cut in the wake of coronavirus because he felt there was no proper consultation process. Ozil was one of three Gunners players who snubbed the club's request to help preserve their finances in April, although the club did make significant savings on their £230m annual wage bill.
