Arsenal identify ‘Thomas Partey alternative’ as Mikel Arteta considers swap deal

Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara as a cheaper option to Thomas Partey. Mikel Arteta is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements with his team set for a shake up next season. Atletico Madrid’s Partey has been earmarked as a target but Arsenal are reluctant to pay his £45m release clause. The player is also said to be looking for a contract worth £200,000 a week. As a result, The Telegraph claim Arsenal have now opened talks with Roma’s Diawara.
