Arsenal's "gladiator" defender and "tough dog" impressing on loan

Konstantinos Mavropanos has earned the praise of Stuttgart boss Pellegrino Matarazzo with a string of solid performances in the Bundesliga. Signed in January 2018 by Arsene Wenger, the Greek centre-back made his debut against Manchester United later that season. However, an injury at the start of October ruled him out for two-and-a-half months the following season. He was subsequently sent out on loan to Nurnberg in January, where he registered 12 appearances in a mixed spell. Mavropanos was shipped out on loan again at the start of this campaign to Stuttgart.
