Man Utd would rather play Arsenal in Europa League final over Emery's Villarreal
Manchester United may have preferred to face Arsenal and not Villarreal in the Europa League final. The Red Devils booked their place in Gdansk later this month with a mammoth 8-5 aggregate win over AS Roma. United lost 3-2 in Rome on Thursday but the damage had already been done at Old Trafford, where the Red Devils won 6-2. In the other semi-final, Unai Emery got one over on his old club Arsenal to make it through to his fifth Europa League final.
