Arsenal are to try and fend off interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City in Jack Wilshere by offering the midfielder a new five­-year deal which will see his wages double, according to the Sunday Mirror. City are determined to boost their quota of home­grown players at the Etihad and Wilshere is believed to be a top priority, along with Liverpool's unsettled star Raheem Sterling and Aston Villa skipper Fabian Delph.
