Sergio Aguero’s father has revealed that Chelsea and Arsenal were keen on signing the Argentine forward right up until “the last minute.” Aguero, 32, brought his decade long association with Manchester City to an end this week after joining La Liga giants Barcelona on a free transfer. The striker leaves the Etihad as the club’s all-time top-scorer on 260 goals and a five-time Premier League winner. He is also the division’s fourth highest goalscorer of all-time – a record he had the opportunity to build on next season.
