The Premier League has confirmed that Abou Diaby, Ryo Miyaichi and a host of reserve team players will be released at the end of the month. The decision not to offer Diaby a new contract comes at the end of a second successive season in which the Frenchman has managed only one first team appearance. As has been well documented the midfielder, now 29, has endured a series of long-term injuries since having his leg broken by Sunderland's Dan Smith five months after signing in 2006.
