William Saliba stands by transfer stance as he discusses decision to leave Arsenal

William Saliba has explained why he decided to leave Arsenal on loan for a third time this season. Saliba joined the Gunners in a £27million transfer from Saint-Etienne in 2019 but has spent the vast majority of time in France since then. The 20-year-old defender is yet to make a single appearance for his parent club, instead spending time on loan with Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille. Many thought Saliba could breakthrough into Mikel Arteta’s side this summer after David Luiz’s departure and a strong half-campaign with Nice.
