Arsenal confirm popular attacker’s departure

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that Lukas Podolski has agreed a deal to sign for Galatasaray. The Germany international spent three seasons on the North London club’s books but never really established himself as a week-in, week-out starter for Arsene Wenger’s men. The former Bayern Munich forward found himself as a fringe figure last term following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck, not starting a Premier League game int he first half of the campaign. Podolski spent the second part of the season on loan at Inter Milan, but struggled to show his best form during an underwhelming stint in Italy.
