Arsenal boss shocked to see former player leave Man United for Turkey

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his surprise at seeing Robin van Persie leave Manchester United for Turkish side Fenerbahce this week, claiming that the Red Devils, as well as the Premier League as a whole, have lost a special talent. 31-year-old Van Persie spent eight seasons with Wenger at Arsenal, becoming club captain during the 2011/12 season – his last at the club. The striker left the Gunners for United in July 2012, when he told the north London outfit he would not be signing a new contract and wanted to leave.
