It was a dominant display right from the off, and a fantastic sign of things to come this season. Arsene Wenger named a fairly strong side, with a few surprise inclusions such as Emiliano Martinez and Alex Iwobi. His choices were more than vindicated over the course of the game though, with six different goalscorers finding the net in a 6-0 demolition of Ligue 1 side Lyon. Olivier Giroud opened the scoring, knocking in a Mesut Özil free kick after some sloppy defending.
