Abou Diaby grateful for Arsenal fans' support after Marseille transfer

Abou Diaby signed for Arsenal from Marseille in 2006. New Marseille midfielder Abou Diaby has told RMC he was "touched" by the reaction to his departure from Arsenal this summer. Arsenal fans paid tribute to Diaby, 29, on Twitter, with the midfielder having been released by the Premier League club when his contract expired in June. There was as much sympathy for the injury-plagued Frenchman as praise following a nine-year stint in North London during which he made 180 first-team appearances. "I was touched.
