Aston Villa have failed in an attempt to land former Arsenal attacker Gervinho from Roma. talkSPORT told you earlier on Tuesday how Villa were close to agreeing a move with the Italian side for Adem Ljajic. According to Corriere dello Sport, however, Ljajic was not the only Roma player on their radar - with the Midlands club also enquiring about the availability of winger Gervinho. But it is understood that Villa have now ended their interest in the Ivorian after holding talks with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini.
