Arsenal working on ‘last-minute’ star addition

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he’s “confident that a last-minute situation or solution” will be “available” before next week’s transfer deadline passes. The Gunners have been fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer, with the capture of Petr Cech from bitter rivals Chelsea the only major piece of business conducted in North London. A late move for a striker has been mooted, with names such as Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani having been mentioned, but, as things stand, the reigning FA Cup champions will have to go until at least January with their current squad, which appears to be short in terms of numbers up front.
