Newcastle United are still searching for their first league win under Steve McClaren after they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal this afternoon. The Magpies survived an early penalty shout for the visitors but then saw their chances take a major blow when Aleksandar Mitrovic was shown a straight red card after just 16 minutes. Arsenal made hard work of finding a way through, but they finally got the decisive goal seven minutes after the interval when Fabricio Coloccini inadvertently deflected Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's shot into his own net.
