Former England striker Alan Shearer has admitted his surprise that neither Tottenham Hotspur nor Arsenal signed a new forward on transfer deadline day. Spurs were strongly linked with a move for West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino, but could not come to an agreement with the Englishman's club.
