Piers Morgan has branded Arsenal “a joke” after the Gunners signed just Petr Cech in the summer transfer window. Arsene Wenger snapped up the 33-year-old Czech Republic international in an £11m deal from defending Premier League champions Chelsea in July. The Gunners were linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani in recent weeks. However, Benzema reaffirmed his commitment to the 10-time European champions and Cavani remained in the French capital despite Wenger being snapped on an apparent flight to Paris.
