London mayor honours 'green' Arsenal for stadium initiatives
A change in floodlights helped Arsenal cut down on energy consumption. Arsenal have received a Gold Award from the Mayor of London as part of the Business Energy Challenge for cutting energy consumption. The Emirates Stadium's switch from halogen floodlights to LED lighting has trimmed the club's consumption by 30 percent. The Gunners also salvage 1.5 tonnes of glass every matchday.
