FA Chairman lays out plans to reduce Premier League from 20 teams to 18
FA Chairman Greg Dyke is set to enter talks with the Premier League over reducing the number of teams in the top flight from 20 to 18, according to the Daily Mirror. A report in The Times claims that Dyke plans to speak to Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore about cutting the division down by two teams. However, the plans would have a knock on effect for the divisions below, meaning that representatives from the Championship, League One and League Two would need to be consulted.
