But their plot to qualify next time around is alive and kicking after they came out on top against a blunt Everton side. Giroud fired home from a corner before Rosicky's late deflected shot found the net to ease some of the pressure on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who admitted his side were suicidal in the week.
