Arsenal 2 - Everton 0: Giroud and Rosicky goals leave Toffees in sticky situation
Both teams started brightly, but it was Everton who almost took the lead after just 18 minutes when Gabriel allowed Romelu Lukaku into a one-on-one situation with David Ospina, but the Gunners keeper stood strong to deny the Belgian a much-needed goal. Giroud came close to opening the scoring with a header that went just wide of the post after 27 minutes, with Santi Cazorla pulling the strings from midfield. However, the Frenchman finally put the ball in the back of the net five minutes before half time, steering in from a Mesut Ozil corner to give Arsene Wenger a timely boost. GETTY
