Arsene Wenger Thrilled To See Giroud Bounce Back From Monaco Nightmare

Arsene Wenger was happy with the performance of Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud in the weekend’s 2-0 win over Everton. The French striker scored the opening goal as the Gunners bounced back with a much-needed domestic victory after their disappointing 3-1 home loss to Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday. Giroud was well below his best in that match, missing a couple of gilt-edged chances, but Wenger opted to stick with him for the visit of the Toffees because he knows the player is always eager to atone for poor showings. “Olivier’s great quality is when his back is to the wall – he has the personality and the character to respond,” said Wenger of Giroud who netted his ninth...
