Ex-Arsenal forward Gervinho pulls out of China switch

Former Arsenal flop Gervinho has pulled out of a move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning. The Ivory Coast international was on the cusp of completing a switch to the club after falling out of favour at Roma. Jiangsu Suning are looking to splash the cash at the moment and have also been pursuing Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin. However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chinese side will not be landing Gervinho after talks collapsed. The former Gunners winger has reportedly had second thoughts about a move to the Far East and he is hoping to secure a deal in Europe. Clubs in France are said to be interested but the 28-year-old's wages may prove a stumbling block.
