£16m Arsenal star nearing comeback after 10 month layoff

Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck has made a playing return to the club's under-21 setup after nearly 10 months out, report the Daily Telegraph. A knee injury picked up in April led to an operation in September for the former Manchester United striker, who has not played since. However, the England international played 60 minutes in developmental game at the club's London Colney training base. During the 3-0 win over Brighton under-21s, the 25-year old played for longer than Gunners chief Arsene Wenger had expected, though was unable to get on the scoresheet.
